Ants climbing a tree
That’s what this dish is called. Let that one knock around in your head for a bit.

The weather turned crap for one day so we could...
Roasted red pepper and tomato soup with open faced grilled cheese and salad. I feel a food coma coming on here.
Salmon, the scourge of Earth
‘tis a scourge no longer!

I'd sat-ay that this is pretty damn tasty
Heyooooo! Chicken with satay sauce over rice with asian green salad.
A bevy of flavors
Sounds like an 80’s band name. Marinated chicken kabobs with yogurt sauce, salad and eggplant puree. Light, and nutritious!

Not suitable for a wedding cake
Salmon cakes with tartar sauce were on the cards.
When our resident vegetarian is out, we get...
He should go on vacation more often. (Panzanella salad and steak.)
Miss me?
I missed you too chicken. It’s been far too long.

We found these noodles drunk on the street.
Being good samaritans, we put the noodles through rehab (thai-style chicken soup) and then ate them. Good stuff.
What else can I say about fajitas that I haven't...
If you say something bad about this fajita’s mother, it will fight you.
Itsa spicy-a meatball
Well, not really. In fact it’s not spicy at all. But it sure was good, man.
The ol' risotteroo-hah
I don’t think I’ve ever had risotto with sausage in it before - now I have. Sausage pea risotto, mm mm good.
Summer fog, a perfect time for soup
‘twas a healthy lunch yesterday for we had hot and sour soup with tofu and a vegetable stirfry with more tofu. Hooray for soy!
A great excuse to bust out the chopsticks
Scallion noodles with shrimp and tofu along with pickled carrots and cucumber. Awesome.
The best kind of salad
The kind where it’s mostly meat (kidding). Taco salad was on the menu along with mexican street corn.
Swam upstream into our stomachs
Thank you Mr. Salmon. (That’s a fruit salsa on top plus a farro salad in the back with various vegetables and buffalo mozzarella.)
Burning through saffron like it's going out of...
Dinner on Wednesday consisted of a Moroccan-style chickpea stew. Thus, the hunger-beast that is Thumbtack was sated.
San Francisco is schizo this week
Earlier this week it was rainy as hell and cold. Thus we were gifted tortilla soup. Today it’s gorgeous. (Not complaining)

We were promised gnocchi, but delivered tortellini
I can live with that though. (Though I do love gnocchi.)
A tart that is savory as H-E-double-hockeysticks
Little bit o’ eggplant, little bit o’ cheese, little bit o’ zucchini. Oh yeah! Like the koolaid man.
We have rats in the kitchen!
And they’re controlling our chef by her hair! One of them sounds like Patton Oswalt! And they cooked us ratatouille with herbed couscous and roast chicken!
Here's the shortcake as promised
But there’s more than just strawberries. Blueberries and raspberries also came to the dance. Delish.
This has all the makings of a hangover cure
Peppers, cilantro and egg? These chicken chilaquiles make for a great hangover cure. Also, we’ve got some strawberry shortcake on the way. Picture incoming.
Cabbage and chicken?
Playing catch up with some Chinese chicken salad. If it’s got sesame, it’s awesome.
A monument to sesame
Fried rice with shrimp and sesame snap pea salad.
Bow before your master!
Fudge brownie sundae. Where is your god now?
Just FYI, dark meat is tastier
Those Russians and Chinese have it right. Yesterday we had roasted bbq chicken with coleslaw and chips.
You got your chicken in my farro
No you got your farro in my chicken! Lets just have some argula instead.
This lunch is fishy
Today we had some roasted salmon with some sort of watermelon, arugula, feta salad. They brought along their friends bruschetta and chocolate milk. Now they’re partying in my stomach.
By popular demand...
Here’s your coffee cake picture! Sheesh. Get off my back, mom!
Starcraft isn't the only national sport in Korea
So are noodles! This is japchae (잡채), a dish made of cellophane noodles, vegetables, sesame oil and (in this case) tofu. Delicious.
Sooooooooooooooop
A new season of Thumbtack’s Food is Good begins with a white bean and swiss chard soup. The weather has been winter-like so far this June, and it was truly welcome.
This ain't your mother's gratin
This is no potatoes au gratin out of a box. This is a lean, mean, tasty machine, spinach and cottage cheese gratin with green salad and some freakin’ focaccia bread.
(Oh, and lemon drizzle cake can come too.)

Always down for some Memorial Day sausage
Yesterday’s lunch was grilled sausage sandwiches with sauteed peppers and onions, green salad and peanut butter cookies.
Well then what is a tostada?
“Tortilla with cheese, meat and vegetables. Look just say a Spanish word and I’ll bring you something.”
Tuna fracking* tacos
Tuna with chipotle, cilantro, red onions and the fixings. Divine.
*This is a family blog, brohan.
This is one spicy sandwich
All the things we’d want on a grilled chicken sandwich plus some chipotle aioli. Hella good. (Hella is California-speak for “very”.)
We had cake for lunch - jealous?
No joke. Black bean cakes with house-made guacamole, sour cream, cojita cheese and hot sauce with spanish rice. Hella tasty.
Melty....melty
Cheese, tomatoes, red onions, tuna, bread… with our powers combined, we are Captain Planet - I mean tuna melts!
Return of the noodles
No need to dress it up. It’s been stated on this blog before, but noodles are the best. These noodles are in the form of a curry chicken noodle soup.
You can't tie this rice down, man
Because that rice is wild! Also it’s in a bowl of soup along with chicken and vegetables.
Where the candles?
We got received a lovely chicken parmesan dinner with bread topped with roasted camembert cheese and rosemary. Where’s the candles to make it more romantic-like?
There was no leftover vodka
All I know is that when I saw the ingredients, there was a big bottle of vodka. Next thing I know, the bottle is gone. (Penne alla vodka, garlic bread and green salad.)
Minus one for the grizzlies
Grizzlies like salmon, or so I’ve heard. However, they don’t like bruschetta or farro salad (or so I’ve heard). Ergo, we are not grizzlies. QED.
It doesn't have to be Thanksgiving to have turkey
Turkey burgers with carmelized onions, avocado, tomato, lettuce and mayo. Oh, and is that coleslaw on the left? I THINK IT IS!
Cinco de drinko
We didn’t get Corona for lunch, but we sure did get some awesome tacos. Is that salsa verde? You better believe that’s salsa verde.
Well, it's pizza shaped.
This is a spanish omelette. To me it kind of looks like a frittata. I’m not sure what the difference between the two is, but this sure was tasty.
Jet-packing dinosaurs from Dimension Zed
It was pretty warm on Tuesday. A good day for nicoise salad. The best part is the egg.
1st floor: capers, anchovies, onions...
Never heard of pissaladieres before. But apparently they’re a french take on pizza. And although they come in the same shape as pizza, they’re quite different. Expanding horizons!

I often eat noodles, and when I do, I use...
Today’s lunch was cold udon noodles (with an assortment of toppings) and miso soup (queue Full Metal Jacket jokes).
